Dates to Remember:
Monday, April 23 – Core Assembly at 1:30 pm. Each school in Dearborn will present at grade levels what projects and ways they help their community. Kindergarten is working on ways to save the Earth. Each class has worked on Earth Day posters and we have learned about keeping our community clean by recycling.
Thursday, April 26 – Library Check-in/Check-out. Kindergarten Round-up 5:30-6:30 pm. If you have a child going into Kindergarten please attend this event. We will begin registering Kindergartners and discussing what will take place for the upcoming school year in Kindergarten.
Peek at the Week:
Spelling words for the week – “ug” family – bug, hug, tug, jug, slug, plug.
Sight word for the week – what
Math – Geometry reviewing 2D and 3D shapes and forming shapes independently.
Writing – Asking questions??? Students will have fun asking questions and guessing what student’s are writing about. With questions such as; I have black and white stripes, a tail, eat grass and I live in Africa or the zoo. Who Am I?
Science – Students continue to observe sunflower plants for growth.
Social Studies – Students learn to take a stand and make posters to show ways we can save the Earth.
Daily Five – Phonics – CVCE words. Learning how to read a CVCE word such as; bite, kite, dine, cute, fine, cape, tape.
Understanding how to flip vowels in a word; short and long.
