Dates to Remember:

 

Monday, February 26 – Back to school from Winter Break.

 

Wednesday, February 28 – Curriculum Night 5-6:30 pm. Please join us for a family evening of fun. Students/families will visit classrooms and play learning games and win prizes. Mrs. Polgar will host BINGO in her classroom.

 

Friday, March 2 – Homework packets are due for the Week of February 26. Spelling test will also be on Friday.

 

The Scholastic Book Fair will be held this week. I will post the day our classroom will be visiting the book fair to purchase books. Your child does not have to attend the book fair; only if you would like your child to purchase some books.

 

Peek at the Week:

 

Math – We will compare volume and learn about capacity in our

measurement unit.

 

Social Studies – begin a new unit on geography – where do we live?

Study of maps, directional terms and community.

 

Writing – Start a new unit on personal narratives. Review features of narratives – beginning, middle, end to stories, setting, details, characters, events and problems. Learning about the details of speech bubbles.

 

Reading – Retelling familiar stories with key details in a text and asking and answering questions about key details in a text.
