Dates to Remember:

Monday, January 15 – No school. Martin Luther King day.

Wednesday, January 17 – Late start – school starts an hour later.

Thursday, January 18 – NWEA Reading assessment scheduled at 8:50-10:05 a.m. Please make sure your child is on time for school to begin the test. It also helps to have a good night’s sleep and breakfast for brain energy.

Over the next two weeks students will be assessed in content areas – Math, Reading, Social Studies, Science, Writing.

Math

Counting by ones, tens, count forward by a given number, count and write quantity, understand greater than, less than and equal to symbols in relation to problems. Addition and subtraction within 5. Identify 2D and 3D shapes.

Reading

Comprehension – Retell the beginning, middle and end of a story. Identify letters and letter sounds. Read CVC words – sun, map, bat. Fluently read sight words.

Report cards will be distributed the week of January 29th.
