Hello Families,
I hope you are all enjoying a restful Winter break! I miss my Kindergarten class!!
As we welcome the New Year I want to thank you all for the gifts, cards and sweets. It was very thoughtful and kind of you to remember me during the holiday season. I wish you all a happy, healthy and successful New Year!
Before break we enjoyed our holiday party and we had time to do a STEM activity – Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. The students were asked to make a Christmas tree with Solo cups with their group. Before starting they needed to plan how they would do it with the materials given. What would the outcome be? What structure or formation would be sturdy? It was not as easy as you think and many had to keep trying over again. They began thinking about why their structure was not working. Then they started talking and planning how to make it work. Great learning experience!!
Here are some pictures of their group projects. They had a blast and worked together very well. We will be doing more STEM projects throughout the year – collaborative learning.
I look forward to the New Year and seeing you all on Monday, January 8th.
