Dates to Remember

Monday, April 17 – We will be going to the Detroit Zoo on Monday, May 15. Last week a chaperone notice was sent home in your child’s blue folder. If you plan on meeting us at the zoo or being a chaperone for the zoo field trip, please turn in the chaperone/attending form. There is a $5.00 group admission fee for adults and children under two are free.

Please remember to also fill out a background check form in the office if you plan on being a chaperone for the trip.Don’t wait till the last minute, it takes a couple weeks to process the paperwork.

Tuesday, April 18 – April is poetry month. The writing committee will be hosting Poetry Night at 6pm. Join us as we write a variety of different poems and create a poetry book. Each student will create a book of poetry and an amazing sundae!

Wednesday, April 19 – Library check-in/out. Last Mini-Martian training after school. Mini-Martian Marathon is April 22nd at 12 pm.

Friday, April 21 – I will be out of the classroom all day.

Saturday, April 22 – Mini-Martian Marathon at 12 pm Ford Field. It is also Earth Day!

Spelling Words for the Week – “it” family it, hit, pit, sit. Sight words – will, with.

April is poetry month so we will be reading and writing poems. Throughout the month your child will bring home some poems to read for homework. We will practice finding sight words and rhyming words. Poetry is great for building fluency!!
