Wednesday, October 28 – Nowlin PBIS Celebration. Our school will celebrate positive behavior on Wednesday with a Halloween Movie and popcorn at the end of the school day. Students who have continually been earning Class Dojo points through the month of October will attend the celebration. Students who have not earned a percentage of Class Dojo points through the month of October will not attend the celebration and will work in a group setting and work on positive behavior strategies. Positive behavior is highly encouraged with all students at Nowlin and Class Dojo is a positive behavior management system used to encourage positive behavior.
Friday, October 30 – Mrs. Polgar’s Halloween Party will kick off at 12:10 pm and end at 1:20 pm. I have the volunteer sign-up sheet on my front desk in my classroom. We will need volunteers to help with costumes, stations and clean-up.
Please remember to have your child bring a costume to school that they can easily slip over their clothing. No masks, weapons, blood, or violent themes. Students should report to school wearing regular clothing. Please make sure all costumes come to school in a bag labeled with your child’s name. Children will be changing into their costumes when they return from lunch at 12:10 pm.
Letter of the Week – Ii Please review alphabet letters with your child at home.
Sight word of the week – the Please review all sight words – I, a, see, can, and, like.
Homework – Please continue to have your child practicing writing their first name with an upper case letter and all other letters in their name in lower case formation. Also, please review the letters in your child’s name and have your child tell you the name of each letter in their name.
Math – Please have your child practice writing their numbers 1-10 in the right formation. Counting from 1 to 30.
We practice the above skills daily in school and the reinforcement at home helps!
Have a wonderful weekend!
