News for the Week of October 19 – 23

Dates to Remember

Monday, October 19 – Family Pumpkin project is due.

Monday, October 19 – Homework packets are due and please remember to sign your child’s progress report in the red folder and return the red folder to school on Monday.

Friday, October 30 – Mrs. Polgar’s Halloween Party will be from 12:30 – 1:30. Students will change into their costumes after lunch. I will need volunteers to help at stations, help with costumes and clean-up. I will have a volunteer sign-up sheet at the front desk where students turn in blue folders. Volunteers will need to be in the classroom by 12:00 or earlier to help set-up stations and to help with costumes after students return from lunch. A date reminder and information regarding the party will go out this week.

Library – On each Wednesday of the week students check-out books and return books. Many students did not return books on last Wednesday. Please make sure your child returns their library book every Wednesday of the week.

Volunteer-Chaperone History Form – If you plan on chaperoning or volunteering in the classroom you will need to fill out a Volunteer-Chaperone History form. Along with a copy of your driver’s license. Many of you filled this form out in the beginning of the year, with no copy of a driver’s license. I will be returning your history form, if you did not attach a copy of your driver’s license.

You can go to the front office and they can make a copy of your driver’s license for you.

Class Dojo – I have implemented a new system of points. Students need to earn 10 points for a reward. Once a student has reached 10 points I will reset their points to 0. Students are setting a goal to earn one point or more in the morning and one point or more in the afternoon. Behavior at carpet is a goal we are working on. Goals  – not talking during a lesson, sitting criss-cross with hands in our laps and eyes on our teacher.
