News for the Week

NWEA testing will begin this week in the computer lab. Students will be tested in reading and math.

Report cards will go home sometime this week. If you have any questions regarding the report cards, please don’t hesitate to ask me.

Spelling words for the week – “an” word family.     an, ban, can,   sight words – see, the, we

Spelling notebooks – will go home on Monday with the new spelling word list stapled inside. Please remember spelling notebooks are returned on Friday with assignments completed. So, if your child did not return their spelling notebook, please have them return their notebook on Monday.

Also, we have been practicing writing simple sentences with sight words in class. Please make sure your child practices writing a sentence with a sight word from their spelling list in their notebook. Example; We like the zoo.

Friday, January 30  – PBIS celebration. Please make sure you talk to your child about their behavior in school.  It is important that they understand behavior expectations in school and do their best to follow classroom and school rules.

District Writing Assessment – during the week students will be assessed on writing. Students will respond to an opinion writing prompt.
