Monday, January 19 – No School. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day Observed

Thursday, January 22 – 1/2 day of school. Dismissal at 11:45 a.m.

Friday, January 23 – No School. Teacher Professional Development Day

Students took their first spelling test on Friday and did very well. There will be no spelling test this week due to the short week of school. Please continue to review sight words by practicing reading and spelling sight words.

Spelling Notebook – Please make sure your child writes their sight word sentences in their spelling notebook. By the end of this cardmarking most students should be able to write one simple sentence. Practicing writing simple sight word sentences in the spelling notebook will help with fluency. We are progressing in writing and reading as we continually practice stretching sounds in words.

Please return book bags and spelling notebooks on Tuesday.
