Hooray! We had 10 readers who turned in a reading log on Friday. We got 2 rockets! So, don’t forget to read every night and fill out your blue reading log this week and turn it in Friday.

We have openings for guest readers to come in and read in the classroom. If interested, please let me know. Thank you, Mrs. Jeffries for reading Dr. Seuss to our class. What a tongue twister! Fox in Socks.

Kindergarten Spelling Words –  id word endings – bid, hid, lid.   Sight words – yellow, two, jump.

First Grade Spelling Words – all word endings – tall, mall, call, all, hall.

Sight words  – under, four, now.

Reading – I have been testing students in reading the last two weeks and I am very happy with the progression and growth in reading. It makes my heart smile, how far they have come. We work hard daily on phonics rules – di-graphs, vowel teams, silent e rule, sight words and reading strategies and it is showing in reading and writing. Next week, we will work on word endings and their meanings.

Have a great weekend!

Mrs. Polgar
