Week of March 14

Daylight Savings Time begins Sunday, spring forward.

The permission slip for our April 8th field trip to the State Capitol and the Michigan Historical Museum will come home March 11.  Please read these over ( both sides) and sign and return.  Thank you.

There is a Late Start Wednesday this week.

We were very fortunate to have Mrs. Pratt as a guest reader.  The children are really enjoying our guest readers!  Thank you to all who can do this activity.

Our spelling words for Lesson 23 are: there, cashier, earlier, anywhere, flier, where, carrier, copier, interfere, crier.

We will continue our work on Public Issues in Social Studies.  We are looking at issues that are important in Michigan, like the water crisis and wind turbines.

The children are growing as readers.  We continue to work on our strategies in both fiction and nonfiction.  Please continue reading with your child every night for twenty minutes, it does make a difference.   Asking questions throughout your reading time, helps with your child’s comprehension.  Also,  please continue to check your March is Reading Month calendar  for activities to do daily with your child.

As we look forward, April is the time for NWEA testing, as well as the M-Step testing. These tests will be done online.

    • I understand they are coming in for Mrs. Borrello’s class. Perhaps we will be able to arrange a time on that date, so they would not have to make two trips. Do you know the time and date for that?
