Homework and Reminders 12-13-19
- Oakman Folder- sign and return behavior calendar for DECEMBER! See spirit week flyer— dress like a scientist for Monday!!!

2. Reading bag- **30 TOTAL***NEW SIGHT WORDS ARE IN THEIR BAGS: Who, not, do, am, and with— I, like, the, see, we, go, can, she, a, at, is, was, will, he, has, on, in, and, you, up, look, it, my, to, and dog. Practice each night to MEMORIZE THESE WORDS!* And work on using them correctly when speaking in COMPLETE SENTENCES for example: He (when talking about a boy) vs. She (when talking about a girl). And “on” like the book is “on the table.” ***BEGIN WORKING ON SPELLING THESE WORDS AS THESE WILL BE SOME OF OUR FIRST SPELLING WORDS!!!!!!!!!
I sent home the sight word assessment today. Practice the ones that are circled at home please.
3. READING GROUP BAG — BOOKS and fill in reading logs each day!!! Read and Re-read for fluency books to be ready to WRITE about our reading– work on letter sounds!!! (Also can you login code and password to read/listen to more books on the computer)
Please fill in log each day!!! Please use the pointer finger to put their finger under the first letter of each word as they read. Please read the book at least 3 times and sign the paper inside their bags so I know they did their job! Please send the reading bag back to school each day. ***IF YOU HAVE FLUENCY DOWN, PARENTS PLEASE EXTEND the reading by asking questions such as:
- Find the WORD “the” on this page.
- What LETTER/SOUND do you see/hear at the beginning of the WORD?
- What LETTER/SOUND do you see/hear at the middle of the WORD?
- What LETTER/SOUND do you see/hear at the end of the WORD?
- After reading, can you RETELL what happened?? What happened in the beginning, middle, and end?
4. Math Homework-MODULE 3 Lesson 10 on page 237-238 (homework helper is on page 235).
5. NEW library books were chosen this week— this are great books to listen to and work on comprehension!! Asking and Answering questions in COMPLETE sentences– here is our question word song: (Can you answer all these questions about your library book?!??!
Read, Read, Read…. and work on “rainbow e” on CLEVER!!!<— this is a good way to practice for NWEA testing!!! ***MORE INFO WILL BE SHARED AT THE PARENT MEETING NEXT WEEK (Thursday, December 19th 2:30-3:30) ***

Letter Xx bag!
Today we talked about the letter Xx and its /x/ sound, like in x-ray, xylophone, box, fox, taxi etc. Please find 3 items at home have the x sound in the beginning, middle, or end of the word and put them in this bag for your child to share in class tomorrow (Friday, December 13th). Thank you!
