Homework & Reminders 5-3-17

Tonight’s Homework:

  1. Folder-  sign the behavior chart each night.—put mage workbook page 181-182 in your folder for me to check
  2. Reading Bag- new sight words for this week: “do” and “with”…. ** REMEMBER top 3 MYON minutes for the month of May will win lunch with the teacher so READ! Read! READ!!!– 15-20 minutes EACH NIGHT!
  3. Math Bag- we are doing base ten this week— make sure you have read the parent letter (176) and the activity (page 178) and DO PAGE 179-180 (assigned yesterday, missing several!!!) DO PAGE 181-182 TONIGHT
  4. Spelling– rainbow words, write each letter in a different color— if you forgot your spelling notebook— any paper is fine!!!

Tomorrow (Thursday) and Friday we have gym— WEAR GYM SHOES!!!

NEXT FIELD TRIP!!! May 18th!!!  Parents who wish to attend will have to drive separately (can follow the bus) and pay at the gate $16.00.   The WHOLE SCHOOL is going so bus space and FREE student tickets are limited—– PERMISSION SLIPS MUST BE TURNED IN TOMORROW IF YOUR CHILD WANTS TO ATTEND!!!—we must know numbers for tickets to be purchased!!!!!!

 

***PLEASE NOTE THE TIME!!!!  We will not return to school unil 6pm.   If you wish for your child NOT to attend, please write a note that you do not want your child to go.  I had some students tell me they could not go.  Please write me a note or send an email so I know for sure.  Here is my email:  rawsonm@dearbornschools.org  Thank you!

Tonight’s Homework:

  1. Folder- sign APRIL behavior calendar put math workbook page 235-236 (“which is lighter?”) completed in folder
  2. Reading Bag- practice DIGRAPHS— this week we are learning“ch” and did the digraph song (YOUTUBE) and sight words (NEW words this week: “boy” and “girl”)
  3. Math Bag- We finishing our unit on MEASUREMENT and will focus on COMPARING WEIGHT this week… please read family letter on page 230 in math workbook do activity on page 231 and complete page 234-235 to put in your folder for me to check tomorrow

Reminders:

Dear Parents,

Our field trip to the DETROIT ZOO is on Monday, May 1st.  We will leave on the bus at around 9:15.

Some things to remember:

Dress appropriate for the weather and wear comfortable shoes for being outside. *Wear Oakman/blue shirt.

We will be leaving school around 9:15.  ALL students will need to use the restroom before we get on the bus.

ALL students and parents chaperons must pack a lunch and bring a drink.  NO GLASS! *Pack a lunch in a plastic bag not LUNCHBOXES!

Parents that are driving, may follow the bus.

If you have any questions, please ask Mrs. Rawson or Mrs. Fowler

We are looking forward to a fun and educational trip.

Reading Bag- practice DIGRAPHS— today we learned “ch” and did the digraph song (YOUTUBE) and sight words (NEW words this week: “boy” and “girl”)  ***Make sure you LISTEN TO READING on MYON for at least 20, top 3 students to have lunch with me at the end of APRIL!!!!! WINNER for MYON minutes is #1 is Souad Ismail, #2 Adam Qwasmi, and #3 Layan Saad.  Congratulations they will have lunch with me tomorrow.
  3. Math Bag- We are starting a new unit on MEASUREMENT and will focus on COMPARING WEIGHT this week… please read family letter on page 230 in math workbook do activity on page 231 and complete page 234-235 to put in your folder for me to check tomorrow
  4. Spelling Notebook–Write your words in a sentence.  Study for your test tomorrow.

WINNER WIN BE DETERMINED THIS FRIDAY!!!  Please read the NEW books in reading bags as well!!!
  3. Math Bag- We are starting a new unit on MEASUREMENT and will focus on COMPARING WEIGHT this week… please read family letter on page 230 in math workbook do activity on page 231 and complete page 234-235 to put in your folder for me to check tomorrow
  4. Spelling Notebook– write vowels in blue and constants in red, ask your child, “Which words RHYME?”

Reminders:

ABSOLUTE LAST CALL!!! WE MUST PAY THE ZOO AHEAD OF TIME AND LET THEM KNOW WHO MANY STUDENTS AND ADULTS ARE COMING!!!
We need all zoo permission slips and money by tomorrow or your child will not be able to go on the field trip with us!

Kindergarten will dismiss from the playground like the rest of the school.  Students will have a stick with their name and they must put it in my cup when they see mom, dad, or older sibling.  Your cooperation with this is appreciated!!!

Wednesday: STEAM Museum in the gym. For students only.

Thursday:      Nutrition Class #2. Join us in the cafeteria at 8:50 am. If your child is overweight, underweight or diabetic you should be here!
