Homework & Reminders 11-30-18
1. Oaman Folder-Sign and return behavior calendar for November—work on math review packet in folders… this will be due on Monday, December 3rd so please try to do a page or 2 each day.
2. Reading/Math Bag-Please take 15 minutes to “read” each night and practice sight words ***NEW BOOKS IN BAGS AND NEW SIGHT WORD: HERE
** All sight words on ring are: I, the, can, see, like, to, look, at, come, and, a, we, go, my, in, is, has, for, are, here, and “YOU” . ***22 sight words, ALL should be memorized for reading and some should be able to spell on own.
3. READING GROUP BAG—> read NEW black and white book 3 times remembering to point to each word as you read AND extend to asking questions such as: “Find a sight word on this page. Point to word that starts with the /s/ sound. ETC.”
Sign reading log for new books!
4. Math- Green Math Workbook- Module 2, Lesson 10. Read and review homework helper (p. 193) and complete lesson 10 homework page 195— have fun making a collage of shapes!

Yesterday we talked about the letter Kk and its /k/ sound, like in kite, key, etc. Please find 3-5 items at home that start with the k sound and put them in this bag for your child to share in class.

Today we talked about the letter Xx and its /x/ sound, like in x-ray, xylophone, x-tra etc. Please find 3-5 items at home that start OR END with the x sound please if your child didn’t do their homework last night do it tonight. Thank you.

Greetings Oakman Families,
We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving surrounded by all your loved ones. We are thankful for our Oakman family and the time we spend together.
In the next few weeks before the holiday vacation, it is crucial that all students continue working towards their goals, read everyday and put forth their best effort during each school day. Reading daily has countless benefits and is a great habit to form. It should now be a regular part of every student’s daily routine and can be tailored to fit students’ needs and interests. Please reach out to any teacher if you need help with tips or resources.
