Homework & Reminders 3-8-19
1. Oakman Folder-Sign and return behavior calendar for March! ***Check out order form for books for MARCH IS READING MONTH! *** MAKE SURE TO FILL IN READING MINUTES ON READING LOG (taped to folder for Monday-Friday)— students got some new book in their reading bag today so make sure to read for 20 minutes!!! YOU CAN WIN LOTS OF FUN PRIZES BUT MUST READ 20 MINUTES EVERYDAY!!!!!
** All sight words on ring are: I, the, can, see, like, to, look, at, come, and, a, we, go, my, in, is, has, for, are, here, you, dog, up, on, have, said, it, she and new sight words get and an new words me and went make 40. ***ALL should be memorized for reading and some should be able to spell on own AND begin using to write SENTENCES!! Practice our assessment of all 40 words is Monday, March 11. sight words list
3.READING GROUP BAG—> read NEW book 3 times remembering to point to each word as you read AND extend to asking questions such as: “Find a sight word on this page. Point to word that starts with the /s/ sound. ETC.” Please keep alphabet linking chart and on back NEW consonants blends and digraphs in their bag– this is to help with reading and writing during reading groups and can be practiced at home as part of 15 minutes of reading each night!
4. Math workbook should be complete!!! Keep Module books at home and complete them if they are not finished!!! On Monday, we will be starting a NEW module and have a NEW homework workbook Module 4!!!!
5. Spelling
Next spelling words for our test on March 15, 2019
look, my, at, run, sun, fun, bun, and nun. Practice these words over the weekend.
6. Poem book: please read the poems and sign the poem book in the front of the book and return Monday.

Write a sentence using one spelling word in each sentence. Make sure to include a capital letter at the beginning of your sentences, finger spaces between words and punctuation so you can get the BONUS point on your test tomorrow!!!!!!!!

Students will be tested next week (Monday, March 11th) over the following 40 words
Students will be tested next week (Monday, March 11th) over the following words. Please practice tonight and write how many correct out of 40 they got correct with you at home. Today at school, they practiced with their 3rd/4th grade buddy reading and then writing (like a spelling test). If they can read them all then start working on spelling them. Return paper (will send home on Friday) in their folder so we can test them at school Monday!

March is reading month author: Maria Dismondy
We will be having the Author Maria Dismondy visit Oakman during March is Reading Month.
She will be coming on Wednesday, March 13th, 2019. She will be having a book signing!
Dismondy is a children’s book author from Michigan! She’s written Spaghetti in a Hot Dog Bun, and The Juice Box Bully. She’s had 8 award-winning books. Each one of her books has an empowering message. We are excited to have her come to Oakman!
