1. Oakman Folder- sign and return behavior calendar for OCTOBER!- letter Ee bag if you forgot today!

2. Reading bag- NEW SIGHT WORDS ARE IN THEIR BAGS— I, like, the, see, we,  go, can, she, a, and at. Practice each night to MEMORIZE THESE WORDS! ***Students will be tested over these 10 words NEXT WEEK so practice each night!!****

3. NEW READING GROUP BAG – Please fill in log each day!!! Please use the pointer finger to put their finger under the first letter of each word as they read. Please read the book at least 3 times and sign the paper inside their bags so I know they did their job! Please send the reading bag back to school each day. GREAT JOB WITH BAGS— read same books tonight for FLUENCY! ***IF YOU HAVE FLUENCY DOWN, PARENTS PLEASE EXTEND the reading by asking questions such as:

• Find the WORD “the” on this page.
• What LETTER do you see at the beginning of the WORD?
• What LETTER do you see at the end of the WORD?
• After reading, can you RETELL what happened?? What happened in the beginning, middle, and end??

4. Math Homework Workbook Lesson 20 homework page 83 AND 84 (helper on page 81).— I WILL CHECK BOOKS TOMORROW!

5. POETRY BOOKS– review ALL POEMS and practice new poem, Apples. Ask what the different colors mean. Red= capital letter at the beginning of the sentence, green=ending mark, and yellow=sight words pink+ rhyming words and purple=commas! ***Make sure your child points at each word as they read this poem to you. Parents, Please sign the log in the front of the notebook tonight and tomorrow– I WILL COLLECT POEM BOOKS ON WEDNESDAY!

 Please take 15 minutes to “read” books each night we talked about three ways to read a book… *read the pictures, *. read the words, *. retell the story. and practice ABCs using chart. NEW SIGHT WORDS ARE IN THEIR BAGS— I, like, the, see, we, and go. Practice each night to MEMORIZE THESE WORDS!

Letter Ee bag! Today we talked about the letter Ee and its short /e/ sound, like in elephant, elf, eskimo, etc. Please find EXACTLY 3 items at home that start with the short e sound and put them in this bag for your child to share in class (Friday, October 4th ). Thank you!

Today we checked books out of the library. Take time tonight to read the books with your child. Return them to school on Monday. Then we will check out a new book next Wednesday. Thank you.
