1. Oakman Folder- sign and return behavior calendar for OCTOBER!

2. Reading bag- NEW SIGHT WORDS ARE IN THEIR BAGS— I, like, the, see, we,  go, can, she, a, and at. Practice each night to MEMORIZE THESE WORDS! ***Students will be tested over these 10 words NEXT WEEK so practice each night!!****

3. NEW READING GROUP BAG – Please fill in log each day!!! Please use the pointer finger to put their finger under the first letter of each word as they read. Please read the book at least 3 times and sign the paper inside their bags so I know they did their job! Please send the reading bag back to school each day. GREAT JOB WITH BAGS— read same books tonight for FLUENCY! ***IF YOU HAVE FLUENCY DOWN, PARENTS PLEASE EXTEND the reading by asking questions such as:

• Find the WORD “the” on this page.
• What LETTER do you see at the beginning of the WORD?
• What LETTER do you see at the end of the WORD?
• After reading, can you RETELL what happened?? What happened in the beginning, middle, and end??

4. Math Homework Workbook Lesson 22 homework page 91 AND 92 (helper on page 89).—Make sure number formation is correct!! If not, ease and try again!! Parents please check as correct number formation is important!

***Make sure all 4 things come back to school in backpacks!!!***

Letter Ff bag!Today we talked about the letter Ff and its /f/ sound, like in fireman, frog, fish etc. Please find 3 items at home that start with the f sound and put them in this bag for your child to share in class tomorrow (Wednesday, October 9th).  Thank you!

Dear Parents:

Please  mark on your calendar.

This Friday, October 11,  We’ll have a Parent meeting @ 9 AM. It is also a half day of school.  School will be dismissed at 11:45   Please be on time to pick up your children.

Next Wednesday, October 16^th is Late Start.  School will begin at 9:30 a.m.  Breakfast will be served at 9:00 a.m.   Please do not bring your children earlier than 9:00 a.m.

Students got to pick a library book today and are soooo excited to bring them home to read/listen to you read with them!! Library books MUST be returned on Monday in order to check out a NEW book on Tuesday each week. If books are lost, they will need to be paid for $$$ so please take care of these books and return on Monday (or each day with other items is fine too!) THANK YOU!!!!!

*Some friends did not get to check out a new book today because they did not return their books from last week. Please return tomorrow. Thank you.

Dear Parents,

I would like to ask each family to donate $20 to use for our 5 parties for the year.  We will have a party for Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s Day, 100^th day, and Easter.  The money will be used for an art and craft, lunch, and a treat bag.  Please send in a zip lock or envelope with $20 and your child’s name on the zip lock or envelope.  Thank you to Ali Ismail’s mom, Amar’s mom, Zahraa’s mom, and Mehdi’s mom for being our classroom volunteers to help organize, purchase, and plan the parties.  I will give them the money for each party to buy the supplies.  Again please send in $20 for the school year for our classroom parties.  Thank you.

Parent University is starting up at several schools in Dearborn. We are looking forward to a great Fall Parent University.  No RSVP is needed.  This program is for all parents with children ages 6 months to 4 years old. We encourage parents to bring their child for an interactive hour of parent / child activities.
