1. Oakman Folder- sign and return behavior calendar for OCTOBER!

Letter Jj bag!

Today we talked about the letter Jj and its /j/ sound, like in jump, jaguar, juice etc. Please find 3 items at home that start with the j sound and put them in this bag for your child to share in class tomorrow (Wednesday, October 23).  Thank you!

2. Reading bag- NEW SIGHT WORDS ARE IN THEIR BAGS— I, like, the, see, we,  go, can, she, a, at, is, was, and will. Practice each night to MEMORIZE THESE WORDS!* And work on using them correctly when speaking in COMPLETE SENTENCES for example: Today is Friday. Yesterday was Thursday. Tomorrow will be Saturday.

3. READING GROUP BAG – Read and Re-read for fluency books to be ready to WRITE about our reading– work on letter sounds!!! (Also can you login code and password to read/listen to more books on the computer)

Please fill in log each day!!! Please use the pointer finger to put their finger under the first letter of each word as they read. Please read the book at least 3 times and sign the paper inside their bags so I know they did their job! Please send the reading bag back to school each day. ***IF YOU HAVE FLUENCY DOWN, PARENTS PLEASE EXTEND the reading by asking questions such as:

• Find the WORD “the” on this page.
• What LETTER do you see at the beginning of the WORD?
• What LETTER do you see at the end of the WORD?
• After reading, can you RETELL what happened?? What happened in the beginning, middle, and end??

4. Math Homework- Lesson 30 homework page 123-124 (helper on page 121).—Make sure number formation is correct!! If not, ease and try again!! Making 10!

************POETRY BOOK— read new poems, RAIN ON THE ROOFTOPS and talk about the colors for capital letters, ending marks, and rhyming words!!!

***Make sure all 4 things (PLUS POETRY BOOKS) come back to school in backpacks!!!
