We are collecting non perishable items- cans, boxed foods, jars, etc. this month! We are discussing wants/needs in our social studies unit and this is a perfect opportunity to discuss at home and relate this topic of helping others to real life!

**Check folders for PRACTICE SIGHT WORD TEST that students did today with their 3rd grade buddy— actually TESTS WITH ME WILL BEGIN TOMORROW- I will do 5-6 students a day and send a slip home how they did after they take it with me!

Reading bag- NEW BOOKS AND NEW SIGHT WORDS ARE IN THEIR BAGS— I, like, the, see, we,  go, can, she, a, atis, was, willhe, has, onin, and, you, and up. Practice each night to MEMORIZE THESE WORDS!* And work on using them correctly when speaking in COMPLETE SENTENCES for example: He (when talking about a boy) vs. She (when talking about a girl). And “on” like the book is “on the table.” ***NEW, I went “in” the door. The balloon is “up” in the sky.

2. READING GROUP BAG – NEW BOOKS WERE GIVEN TODAY— please read and fill in reading logs each day!!! Read and Re-read for fluency books to be ready to WRITE about our reading– work on letter sounds!!! (Also can you login code and password to read/listen to more books on the computer)

Please fill in log each day!!! Please use the pointer finger to put their finger under the first letter of each word as they read. Please read the book at least 3 times and sign the paper inside their bags so I know they did their job! Please send the reading bag back to school each day. ***IF YOU HAVE FLUENCY DOWN, PARENTS PLEASE EXTEND the reading by asking questions such as:

  • Find the WORD “the” on this page.
  • What LETTER do you see at the beginning of the WORD?
  • What LETTER do you see at the end of the WORD?
  • After reading, can you RETELL what happened?? What happened in the beginning, middle, and end?

3. Math Homework-MODULE 2 LESSON 3 Homework page 165– (helper on page 163).

4. Poem books please read all the poems and sign the front when you’re done. Please return by Wednesday.

Library books are due tomorrow or your child can’t check out a new book.
