1. Folder— sign behavior calendar FOR  December!

Letter Yy bag!

Today we talked about the letter Yy and its /ya/ sound, like in yarn, yellow,and yo-yo.etc. Please find 3-5 items at home that start with the j sound and put them in this bag for your child to share in class tomorrow (Thursday, December 7th).  Thank you!

2. Reading Bag-

#1 Reading Group Book (black at white copy) fill out on READING LOG!  Some students have a new yellow log in their bags!

#2 Practice ALL 18 sight word cards including NEW word “here”

#3 Play Letter Name Game!   *Remember to make the SOUND for each letter as you play!!  Try to also name an object that BEGINS with that sound, For example… B—/B/—Ball.

***These are the 3 JOBS they do EVERYDAY at READ TO SELF time and NEED to practice at home EACH NIGHT AS WELL FOR 15 MINUTES!  Please remember the OAKMAN READ TO HOME PLEDGE!!!

3. Math Bag- Math Workbook Unit 2 needs to be complete by December 22– Please continue doing a page each night!

Attention: Families with Preschool age children who are 4 years of age by December 1, 2017.  There is an immediate possibility of free full day preschool beginning in January 2018 in the Dearborn Public Schools (next month). The family must be eligible based on risk factors and not currently enrolled in a GSRP program.  If interested, families may pick up an application at the Cotter Early Childhood Center, 13020 Osborn or call Nadia Berry at 313-827-6150.
Please respond immediately as slots are limited.
Families must live in the city of Dearborn.

Please send in your permission slip tomorrow with $10 for students adults are free.

If you have not turned it in please bring it tomorrow.

2. Reading Bag- Sight word Have practice and please turn in tomorrow.

Rudy’s Sock Drive

December is the month of GIVING!

This month the Oakman Lions will be joining Rudy’s Sock Drive. Rudy is an 11 year old boy who has made it his mission to collect socks and give them to the homeless. We are working with Rudy to come visit our school later in the year for an assembly against bullying.

This is an amazing opportunity to teach our students young and old that WE ALL CAN HELP,WE ALL SHOULD HAVE COMPASSION, and WE ALL SHOULD HAVE EMPATHY.
