1. Folder— sign behavior calendar for JANUARY!

Long E WORD bag!

Today we talked about WORDS that have a long e sound, like eagle, teacher, leaf, tree, etc.  Please find 3-5 items at home that have the long e sound in the WORD and put them in this bag for your child to share in class tomorrow (FRIDAY, January  12th).  Thank you!

2. Reading Bag-

#1 Reading Group Books—all students got 1 NEW (black and white copy) yesterday during reading groups.

#2 Practice ALL 21 sight word cards including NEW word “play”— try finding sight words in their review books!

3. Math Bag- Math Workbook Units 3 and 4 need to be completed before our February Break.– Please continue doing a page each night!  This is also GOOD PRACTICE FOR NWEA MATH!!!  We take our NWEA MATH test on January 26th.

Reminders:

Please send in a class snack for the month of January! (16 please)

2. Reading Bag-

#1 Reading Group Books—all students got 1 NEW (black and white copy) reading group book and most groups kept 1 review book black and white books…fill out READING LOG for NEW book!

#2 Practice ALL 20 sight word cards including NEW word “play”— practice sheet play for homework.

3. Math Bag- Math Workbook Units 3 and 4 need to be completed before our February Break.– Please continue doing a page each night!

Homework & Reminders 12-22-17

Homework

1. Folder— sign behavior calendar FOR  December.

2. Reading Bag-  ***Try logging into MYON using the card on the outside of the Reading Bag— letter with directions sent home yesterday and previous blog post with step by step directions!

#1 Reading Group Books—students have 1 NEW (black and white copy) reading group book and 4 review books black and white…fill out READING LOG for NEW book!  

#2 Practice ALL 20 sight word cards including NEW word “me”

#3 Play Letter Name Game!   *Remember to make the SOUND for each letter as you play!!  Try to also name an object that BEGINS with that sound, For example… B—/B/—Ball.– they will be tested on naming an object for each sound!

3. Math Bag- Math Workbook Units 3 and 4 need to be completed before our February Break.– Please continue doing a page each night!

Reminders:

Our field trip is rescheduled AGAIN for after Winter Break… it will be Wednesday, February 28th— it is FREE for parents and as long as your I-check is done you can come with us!!!  Hope you can join!

***Please try at home on your computer, tablet, or even smart phone.  If you are unable to get it to work, please try to visit the Dearborn Public Library over winter break at least once for your child to do some MYON Listening to Reading!  (This is different than and in addition to READING—sight words, and reading bag books!)

  1. Go to the Homepage of the Dearborn Public Schools.
  2. Go to the resource tab and select For Students
  3. Click on the Blue Clever button
  4. Login using the student number and add @dearbornschools.org

Ex.  20109934@dearbornschools.org  ß  yellow number

Password is the birthdate with leading zeros if needed

Example:  8/9/2010 is  08092010

12/08/2011 is 12082011ß blue number

  1. Then select MyOn

 

*Remember to log out of Clever.  Each child needs to login as themselves each time they go on.

 

 

***Please listen to reading at home 5-10 minutes each night if you are able.  This is IN ADDITION to reading bag activities (sight words, reading group books, and leveled books).  Students should read at home 15 minutes each night according to the Oakman read at home pledge signed at our parent meeting.
