Homework and Reminders 1-19-18
Homework
1. Folder— sign behavior calendar for JANUARY! Sight word paper for “little” and practicing squares on the back side.
2. Reading Bag-
#1 Reading Group Books—fill out READING LOG for NEW book! Students have their logs in their reading bags!
#2 Practice ALL 24 sight word cards including NEW word “little”— they should know these words quickly by sight— no more saying each letter—T-H-E—THE, now it should just be the word “the”! Today we talked about opposites, big is the opposite of little! Try to talk about opposites with your child at home this weekend!
3. Math Bag- Math Workbook Units 3 and 4 need to be completed before our February Break.– Please continue doing a page each night! This is also GOOD PRACTICE FOR NWEA MATH!!! We take our NWEA MATH test on January 26th.
Reminders:
We need more black, thin dry erase markers, PLEASE! The Expo brand works best if you are able to donate to our class!
Next week (Friday, January, 26) is a half day for the end of the marking period.
Our NWEA test schedule times are:
Tuesday, January 23rd will be READING at 9:00am
Tuesday, January 30th will be MATH at 9:00am
Please talk to your child about the importance of this test and make sure they are well-rested, fed, and ready to do their best!

Most of our students will be taking the Winter NWEA test next week. It is important that students are prepared, take their time and take this test seriously. This is an online assessment and will be administered completely on a computer. Below are some links that students can use to practice and familiarize themselves with the test format.

Long O WORD bag!
Today we talked about WORDS that have a long o sound like hose, rose, bow, and bone etc. Please find 3-5 items at home that have the long o sound in the WORD and put them in this bag for your child to share in class tomorrow (Friday, January 19th). Thank you!
2. Reading Bag-
#1 Reading Group Books—all students got 1 book (black and white copy) reading group book and most groups kept 1 review book black and white books…NWEA reading will be Wednesday, January 24th.

Read all your poems in your poem book.
Complete your dog worksheet in your folder.
