The Dearborn fire fighters visited us today! Ask your child about all the important fire safety they learned about today! I make a plan for your family if there ever is a fire at your house!

         

Homework & Reminders 10-12-2018

  1. Oakman Folder- Sign and return behavior calendar for OCTOBER— parents please initial next to the circle for today.  Please look at the paper to see how your child did on their sight word assessment!!

  2. Reading/Math Bag-Please take 15 minutes to “read” the NEW
    early readers in your child’s bag.  Remember there are 3 ways to “read” a book!  Also, practice counting using the 100s chart (point to each number as you count).

    Also, practice sight words: NEW word “and”

    ** All sight words on ring are: I, the, can, see, like, to, look, at, come, and

  3. READING GROUP BAG—> read black and white book 3 times remembering to point to each word as you read AND extend to asking questions such as: “Find a sight word on this page. Point to word that starts with the /s/ sound. ETC.” Sign reading log!  and practice NAME PUZZLE if you got one. 
  4. Math- Read over Lesson 22 homework helper  on page 89 do homework on page 91.  PLEASE check that all lessons up to 22 are complete but do not go ahead. Continue to work on letter formation of numbers 1-8 using the poems we have learned in class—see link below: EurekaMathNumberFormationPostersandPoems (2)
  5. **if your child is having difficulty with formation, please print the poems and reference at home—(say the poem as they write the number— this is what we do in class)

Yesterday we talked about the letter Gg and its /g/ sound, like in gorilla, goat, gum etc. Please find 3-5 items at home that start with the g sound and put them in this bag for your child to share in class tomorrow (last day).  Thank you!

    Look for these words in books AND work on writing them if students know the, by sight (reading)! *They should memorize these words and know them by sight.  Students will have a TEST over the first 10 sight words TOMORROW**List on back of October Calendar.**
