Homework & Reminders 11-20-18
1. Oakman Folder-Sign and return behavior calendar for November—work on math review packet in folders… this will be due on Monday, December 3rd so please try to do a page or 2 each day. If you are traveling for the holiday, you have the week we return from break to finish it!
2. Reading/Math Bag-Please take 15 minutes to “read” each night and practice sight words
** All sight words on ring are: I, the, can, see, like, to, look, at, come, and, a, we, go, my, in, is, has, for, are ***20 sight words, ALL should be memorized for reading and some should be able to spell on own.
3. READING GROUP BAG—> read NEW black and white book 3 times remembering to point to each word as you read AND extend to asking questions such as: “Find a sight word on this page. Point to word that starts with the /s/ sound. ETC.” Read review book and READ YOUR THANKSGIVING BOOK that we made today— keep at home after reading! 🙂

Homework & Reminders 11-19-18
1. Oakman Folder-Sign and return behavior calendar for November—Letter Yy bag! Today we talked about the letter Yy and its /y/ sound, like in yellow, yo-yo, yes etc. Please find 3-5 items at home that start with the y sound and put them in this bag for your child to share in class tomorrow (Tuesday, November 20th). Thank you!
*please review the sight word assessment with your child and begin to start “spelling” and writing the words at home. If you child has ALL their sight words, begin putting them together to make simple sentences: “I can see my cat.”

**If you signed up to bring an item, please bring at drop off in the morning (8:35) so we can make the soup and have it ready for our 2:00 feast!! We still need vegetable broth if you can bring something, let me know!

We have been reading Stone Soup . On Tuesday, November 20th we are planning a Stone Soup Feast. Our plan is to “make” Stone Soup in the morning. We will be eating our soup and having a “feast” at 2:00 if you would like to join.
Please sign up for items listed below if you are able to bring them in by writing your child’s name next to the item.
Please send the listed items to school with your child in the morning (on Tuesday, November 20th) so we can cook them in our crock pot and have the soup ready by 2:00. Parents are invited to join our feast with us on Tuesday at 2:00pm!

Yesterday we talked about the letter Jj and its /j/ sound, like in jump, jaguar, juice etc. Please find 3-5 items at home that start with the j sound and put them in this bag for your child to share in class tomorrow if they did not bring today. Thank you!
