Homework & Reminders 10-22-18

  • Oakman Folder- Sign and return behavior calendar for OCTOBER— parents please initial next to the circle for today. Letter Pp bag!Today we talked about the letter Pp and its /p/ sound, like in popcorn, pig, pretzel Please find 3-5 items at home that start with the p sound and put them in this bag for your child to share in class (Tuesday, October 23rd ).  Thank you!
  • Reading/Math Bag-Please take 15 minutes to “read” the NEW
    early readers in your child’s bag.  Remember there are 3 ways to “read” a book!  Also, practice counting using the 100s chart (point to each number as you count).

    ** All sight words on ring are: I, the, can, see, like, to, look, at, come, and, a, we

  • READING GROUP BAG—> read black and white book 3 times remembering to point to each word as you read AND extend to asking questions such as: “Find a sight word on this page. Point to word that starts with the /s/ sound. ETC.” Sign reading log!  
  • Math- Read over Lesson 28 homework helper  on page 113 do homework on page 115.  PLEASE check that all lessons up to 28 are complete but do not go ahead. Continue to work on letter formation of numbers 1-8 using the poems we have learned in class—see link below: EurekaMathNumberFormationPostersandPoems (2)
  • **if your child is having difficulty with formation, please print the poems and reference at home—(say the poem as they write the number— this is what we do in class)
