Math: There will be a mid-module assessment on Tuesday to review what students have learned so far in our measurement unit. They will be assessed on measuring in grams, kilograms, liters, and milliliters, as well as word problems and telling time. A good source for help with math is the Zearn website. It is important for students to use this site daily to complete the module tasks.
Science: We are starting Earth science this week and will focus on weather patterns.
Social Studies: We will be finishing up our history unit. Students will got a study guide on Friday. The test will be Tuesday.
Reading: We are continuing to analyze informational text. This week we will study the images in informational text to determine what information we can get from the visuals. Students are learning that not all the information comes from the main text. Sometimes there is valuable information in pictures, maps, graphs, etc. Please make sure your child goes on the I-Ready website as part of their daily reading homework. As much as we use it at school, some students are not meeting their required minutes or passing the lessons.
Writing: Students are doing well with their first informational book. This week we will focus on elaborating with details, examples, and text features.
