Reading: This week we will be working on asking and answering questions using informational text and using context clues to find the meaning of words.
- RI 3.1 ask and answer questions to demonstrate understanding of a text, referring explicitly to the text as the basis for the answers.
- RI 3.4 Determine the meaning of general academic and domain-specific words and phrases in a text relevant to a grade 3 topic or subject area.
Writing: This week we will be continue working on narrative writing.
- W3.3 Write narratives to develop real or imagined experiences or events using effective technique, descriptive details.
Math: Students will use the distributive property as a strategy to find related multiplication facts, model the relationship between multiplication and division, and apply the distributive property to decompose units.
- 3.OA.7 Fluently multiply and divide within 100, using strategies such as the relationship between multiplication and division (e.g., knowing that 8 × 5 = 40, one knows 40 ÷ 5 = 8) or properties of operations. By the end of Grade 3, know from memory all products of two one-digit numbers.
- 3.OA.5 Apply properties of operations as strategies to multiply and divide.
Science: Students will be reviewing for their Science Test which will be on Thursday.
- 3-PS2-1 Plan and conduct an investigation to provide evidence of the effects of balanced and unbalanced forces on the motion of an object.
- 3-PS2-2 Make observations and/or measurements of an object’s motion to provide evidence that a pattern can be used to predict future motion.
- 3-PS2-3 Ask questions to determine cause and effect relationships of electric or magnetic interactions between two objects not in contact with each other.
Social Studies: We will continue our unit on Geography of Michigan. Students we will be learning to describe the human characteristics of Michigan.
