Musician spotlight

So much music is being made this month, though we would like to highlight just one musician for her hard work.  Every year the fourth graders get to go and see the Dearborn Symphony Orchestra perform a concert just for them.  Part of that concert features student performers and this year our own Sara Nasser from Ms. Beydoun’s class got to play with the Dearborn Symphony Orchestra!!

Sara asked me about this opportunity at the beginning of the year, and we discussed what it would take for her to be selected.  She came in before school every week to work with me on learning the recorder, and spent time after school at home practicing.  She set the goal of being selected to perform, worked hard, and on Tuesday March, 19 met her goal and performed with other recorder players from across Dearborn, playing Beethoven’s “Ode to Joy.”  She is an amazing example of what we can accomplish when we set a goal and meet it with focus and joy!  Congratulations Sara!!
