DCMST 8th Grade Parent Meeting
Hi All-
We have rescheduled our informational meeting for Tuesday, February 12, 2019 from 6-7 pm in the MBCC lecture hall at the Heights Campus. This meeting is for parents of students currently in 8th grade and enrolled in Algebra 1. We will discuss the program and requirements for students to be invited for the incoming DCMST freshman class for Fall 2019.
WIDA Testing Grades 4-8
Hello,
The WIDA testing window opens up on February 4 to March 22. Each grade will test on different weeks. Be sure to contact your child’s teacher to know that week. Since this is a language test, your child will be assessed on Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking.
You must do your best on the test!
Here are some good test taking tips:
Before the Test:
Get a good night’s sleep.
Get up early to avoid hurrying to get ready for school.
Eat a healthy breakfast.
During the Test:
Relax and stay calm.
Listen carefully to all the directions.
Read the entire question and look at all the answer choices.
Take your time and pick the best answer.
Go back and recheck your answers.
We know you all will make us proud!
Honor Roll Car Bumper Stickers for Middle School Students (2nd Card Marking ONLY)
Hello,
We are letting you know that report cards for marking 2 have been mailed today for middle school students. This report card marking period only, we have purchased honor roll stickers for your cars/vehicles. If your middle school (6-8) child got a 3.0 or higher G.P.A during card marking 2, they will be handed a honor roll bumper sticker. Make sure you ask your child for it.

The application is now available to ALL 8th grade Salina students for the following high schools.
- Advanced Manufacturing-Students wanting a career in the Manufacturing Industry / Engineering
- Henry Ford Early College-Students wanting a career in health
- New for Fall 2019, Pre-Education-Students wanting a career as an educator
The application can ONLY be completed from the the student email account and each application will receive a confirmation along with a copy of what you submitted. The application is due by March 1st.
