Carnival Donations

CarnivalDonations

Haigh Families,

Next Wednesday, April 26th, we will be hosting our second annual HAIGH CARNIVAL for our April PBIS celebration. Students who have maintained positive behavior will have the opportunity to attend the carnival and play some awesome games and even win some prizes!

However, the event can only be a success with your help and donations. Below is a list of items that we are in need of for our celebration. If you are able to contribute or donate in any way, it would be GREATLY appreciated. You can turn in all donations to your child’s teacher.

We are asking that donations be turned in by Monday, April 24th.

  • Empty cardboard boxes (all sizes and shapes needed)
  • Hershey’s Kisses
  • Washable tattoos
  • DumDum suckers
  • Fake frogs (rubber/silicone)
  • Solo cups
  • Cotton Candy buckets (Wal-Mart?)

This is a whole school event, so we will need as many donations as possible (we have almost 500 students!).

We are also in need of volunteers to help run stations at the carnival. If you are able to volunteer your time, it would also be appreciated. The time slots are as follows:

A.M. session – 8:50-11:30                          P.M. session – 1:30-3:15

We need 7 A.M. volunteers and 7 P.M. volunteers. If you are able to volunteer, please e-mail Ms. Otto at ottoc@dearbornschools.org to sign-up 🙂

Thank you for all of your help and continued support!     The PBIS team

Wayne County Regional Enhancement Education Millage Proposal

School districts in Wayne County have placed a proposal on the November 8th ballot to provide added funding for our schools. It is the “Regional Enhancement Millage Proposal.”

If approved by the entire county, the 2 mil proposal will generate approximately $6.2 million from Dearborn but the District will receive $7.8 million in additional funding for our schools.  Money would go to local schools starting this year and the millage expires after six years.  Continue reading

PBIS Celebration-celebrating behavior in a positive way!

Dear Families,

On Monday, October 31st we will be having our first PBIS celebration of the year. This celebration is to recognize your child’s positive behavior for the month of October. Our theme will be a Fall Festival! This event will take place outside, so let’s hope the weather stays pleasant!

Be sure to check the weather forecast and make sure your child is dressed appropriately.  Students will be outside for 45 minutes, therefore, a scarf, hat or mittens may be good idea.

Thank you,

Haigh PBIS Committee

Happy Halloween Everyone

This Friday, 10-28-16, at 9:30am will be our school’s “Halloween Parade”. Last year was our first time hosting this event outside with “Halloween Music” and it was a great time. We will have a designated path that all of the students at Haigh will walk around. This allows our community to see all of our students and staff members that have dressed up for this fun event. We ask that parents, guardians, and friends stay to the interior of the loop, which will allow visibility for everyone present. I am looking forward to a fun and scary time.
