Annotated Timeline Assignment
Your task: Work as a group to create a timeline of events that occurred in the 1930’s. You may use any of the topics discussed in class, the textbook, or things that you researched. The goal here is to find events that you believe have some historical significance, and tell the story of 1930’s America. Be sure to relate how each event impacts the United States. Your groups will need to include an illustration and caption highlighting each event.
Your timeline must include:
1. The basic timeline from 1930-1940.
2. A minimum of 12 specific events that you want to represent on your timeline.
3. A 5 sentence caption/description that explains each event along with the correct date (include month and year if possible). The information should be restated in the students own words. Plagiarized material will result in the group losing credit for the assignment.
4. Color throughout.
5. Be free from spelling and grammatical errors
6. Be neat (pleasing to look at)
Culminating Activity: Each group will have to present their timeline to the class. Presentations should be between 5-10 min in duration and will take place on 12/11.

The movie Cinderella Man gives a pretty good depiction of the Great Depression. It is a true story from the depression era. Based on the movie, write a 250 word essay explaining the great depression. Use examples (at least 3) from the movie as evidence of what people went through during the Great Depression. This may be hand written or typed, but it should be your own ideas (Do not plagiarize). This is not a review of the movie… it is a DESCRIPTION of the depression.
