Hello Winter!!!!!

Today was the first day back after our first snow day. Everyone has been predicting this would be a cold snowy winter here in Michigan and so far, this is true. Hopefully we can still get our work done while the beautiful flakes come floating down.

Henry Ford and Becker Elementaries

Hello Friends. I am assigned different schools quite often and this year is no exception. I’ve tried to keep track over the 20 years just how often I have been to one school or another. I totally lost track and I don’t think human resources has the time to dust that information off anytime soon. I been to Becker at least 4 times under 3 different principals. I have been to Henry Ford two or three times under three different principals. So if your child thinks they might know me from a few years ago, or your cousin had me for music before, then they probably have!

Yankee Doodle

Verse one

Father and I went down to camp, along with Capt Goodin’,

And there we saw the men and boys, as thick as hasting puddin’.

Refrain

Yankee Doodle went to town, a-riding on a pony,

Stuck a feather in his cap, and called it macaroni.

Refrain

Verse three

There was Capt Washington, upon a slapping stallion,

A giving orders to his men, I guess there were a million.

Refrain

Yankee Doodle keep it up, Yankee Doodle dandy,

Mind the music and the step, and with the girls be handy.

You Tube Challenge

Are you looking for something to do on your off time?  Are you looking for some fun?  I highly recommend asking your parent permission to do some You Tube challenges.  Can you find and master a song you have searched on You Tube?  Is there a go noodle dance you have found to be particularly moving?  It’s fun.  I am always looking for new songs and materials for the classroom.  I think it would be good for you at home to do some searching of your own.  It’s a great way to expand your music experiences.  Who knows, maybe you can reccomend something to me!
