Why do you think legislatures have been so hesitant to alter the system despite the fear of it falling into bankruptcy? 3.) Imagine you were a member of the Senate who has an opportunity to sit down with the President in order to discuss reforming government subsidized programs. Explain what changes you might suggest to the President in the hopes of avoiding the potential bankruptcy of the Social Security System?
