  • Writing Prompt-The 1950’s marked a seismic shift in American culture due to the rise of consumerism and the growth of mass media. Using your Cornell notes and your prior knowledge about American culture during the 1940’s select one of the sub headings from the article (ex. Decade of Consumerism) and explain why it was instrumental in creating a new norm for 1950’s America.

    • SWD analysis of key terms associated with the unit covering Chapters 9 by defining and personalizing vocabulary terms in a vocabulary based activity
  • Language Objective:
    • Students will read and record numerical numbers correlating to several fundamental political issues that typically lead voters to define their liberal or conservative ideologies by taking choosing between two options that are designed to track one’s political leanings
    • Students will read and record important vocabulary terms pertaining to our unit covering Chapters 9 through the use of a frayer model vocabulary activity
