Learning Activities for Tuesday May 26th!

Hello Parents, here are our lesson activities for today! Happy Tuesday, Eid Mubarak, and hope everyone had a wonderful long weekend 🙂

Please make sure you send pictures of your child doing the activities from today <3

We will be calling our last group of families later today, but here are the updates:

  • Your child is already registered for school next year, their school only needs an updated immunization record.
  • Pick Up Preschool Certificates @ Cotter June 3rd or June 4th from 12-2 in the circle drive (*please bring library books, Daily 5 bags, or any items from school that need to be returned).
  • Last Day will be June 8th! We’ve got this parents! 8 more days of activities 🙂
  • We hope to have a summer meet up at the splash pad as we have done in years past, but we will have to wait and see at this point.

Exercise

Try the Shadow Game!

The game is so easy to play and so much fun!

The game consists of only stepping on shadows and under no circumstances step on the sunshine ☀️

🌈🌈Sounds easy right? 🌈🌈🌈You can make this game as challenging as you want and it’s adaptable to all ages..

Its like Floor is Lava but outside and the shadows are safe to walk on.

Using logic, physical activity, being outdoors, having fun and trying not to fall after jumping are clearly the highlights of this game ☺️

Academic Activities

It a gorgeous day! Go Outside on a Nature Hunt…

Collect items to match corresponding number.

Have child sort items onto the template and count the amount of items total as well as each set of items.

Once items are sorted onto template and counted… talk about the beginning sounds for each item.

If you collect dandelions ask your child, “What do you think Dandelions starts with?” “Ddandelions.” Let your child come up with the matching letter.

*If finding the beginning sound is too easy for your child, have them try to write the word with your assistance in sounding it out.

** If 1 through 5 is too easy for your child, change the number set. 6-10, 1-10, 10-15, etc.

Creative Time

Pick an outdoor science experiment to do! I can’t wait to see what you choose 🙂

Lunch Time

Remember to eat your fruits and vegetables <3 Ms. Stafiej is having a turkey sandwich with an apple.

Chore Time

Clean your spot after lunch, help to wash the dishes, clean up your toys and your room. 

Quiet Time

Children have time to relax and “charge” their bodies. If your child doesn’t normally nap at home, they can read stories or do a quiet activity of your choice (no screens please!)

Work Time

 5 to 10 minutesPlan for Work Time:  Build your child’s ability to organize their time by having them make a “plan” with you about what they would like to play with.  Children do this everyday with us at school. It helps children learn to organize their thoughts. Adults make plans all the time to organize their thoughts (shopping lists are made before going to the grocery store, to do lists are made to help plan your day etc..).  
Kids will tell you what they are planning to do/want to play with/how they will use toys at home. 
التخطيط لوقت العمل ( وقت اللعب): ساعد طفلك على بناء مهارة تنظيم الوقت بوضع خطة  معهم عن لعبهم. هذا ما كان يفعله كل الطلاب كل يوم في المدرسة. هذا يساعد الأولاد على تنظيم أفكارهم. الأهل أيضا يضعون خطط دائما لتنظيم أفكارهم مثل قائمة التسوق قبل الذهاب إلى المتجر, كتابة القوائم تساعد على تنظيم اليوم….. 
الأولاد سوف يخبروكم ما هي خطتهم/ ماذا سيلعبون/ مع من سيلعبون/ ماذا سيستخدمون من أدوات في لعبهم
1 hourWork Time: Kids play WITHOUT ELECTRONICS.  Kids can use toys to pretend play, build, and create.
وقت العمل :  يجب أن لا يستعمل الأولاد الإلكترونيات . يستطيع الأولاد استخدام الألعاب التي تساعدهم في  التخيل و البناء و الإبداع  
15 minutesClean Up Time:  Kids clean up the mess they have made while playing.
وقت التنظيف: ينظف الأولاد الفوضى التي نتجت عن لعبهم.
5 to 10 minutesRecall Time:  Build your child’s memory of events by having your child tell you what they did while they played (ask “tell me how you did that” or “what did you do next?”)
وقت التذكر: بناء ذاكرة الأولاد و مراجعة الأحداث عن طريق جعل طفلك يعيد سرد ما قام به خلال وقت اللعب( اسال طفلك: اخبرني كيف قمت بذلك؟ أو ماذا فعلت بعد ذلك؟)

2:30 pm – Academic Time

Daily 5 – Listen to Reading

Gather up some books from around your house, have your parents or siblings read the stories to you while you listen.
