Today is the last day for book orders to be turned in. If you still would like to purchase a book, you have till 8pm tonight. You can pay online If you’ve lost it, the website is scholastic.com/readingclub. Our activation code is LDRM8

Spelling / reading log
Week of sept 29th- oct 2nd
Book Orders were sent home a few weeks ago. The due date for turning in Book Order forms and money is Tomorrow. You can also order and pay online using the set up code on the information sheet that was sent home. If you’ve lost it, the website is scholastic.com/readingclub.

There is NO SCHOOL this Friday, October 3rd and next Monday, October 6th.
Our first PBIS party will be this Wednesday, October 1st. Students must stay on green at least 15 days throughout the month of September to be invited to the party. Please see the information about how the incentives have changed this year on the post marked “PBIS Incentives” on the blog. Students who have not stayed on green the minimum number of days will stay back with a teacher to discuss what they can do to improve their behavior in order to attend the next celebration.
Student Reading Log will be coming home again today. Students are expected to read 15-20 minutes a night, fill out their reading logs Monday-Thursday, and have a parent initial each night their child read.
Information that went home
All spelling homework is due on Friday of each week. You can also have your child go to www.spellingcity.com to play fun games to practice spelling words. This is FREE! You do not have to pay unless you want access to the premium activities.
Spirit Wear t-shirt and sweatshirt sale has begun. The forms will be sent home tomorrow. All order forms and money are due on October 7th.
A Parent Survey on Bullying is coming home today. Please fill out the surveys at home and return them no later than Friday, September 26th.
Please make sure your child gets to school on time. We start work at the second bell of 8:40 a.m. The first thing we do is Bellwork, which reviews concepts previously taught. If your child is late, they miss important academic work.
Thank you to all of the wonderful families that attended Open House last Thursday. It was wonderful to meet so many of you and talk to you during this time. If you have not already signed up for Parent-Teacher Conferences, the sign up sheet is posted outside of our classroom.

The first 5 words are pattern words and words 6-10 are review Dolch words (which are sight words that your students are already familiar with). There will be a spelling test every Friday. Along with the pattern words and Dolch words, there will be 5 “mystery” words on the spelling test that follow the same pattern we are learning for the week.
Each week, I will send home a spelling homework sheet on Monday and it is due on Thursday. The students need to choose three of the activities to form a “tic tac toe”. If they choose to do more than 3 activities, they can!!
