Snow book fair

Snow Families!
The Scholastic Book Fair starts this week. We have a great selection of books to choose from this fall and hope you can make it in to see us. Students will be visiting with their classes Tues. thru Thurs., and the book fair will also be open Mon., Wed. & Thurs. after school until 4pm. Then we will be open Fri. morning for last-minute shoppers from 8:30 to 11am.

If you can’t make it to the book fair, please visit the book fair online at:

https://bookfairs.scholastic.com/homepage/snowschool

Included with the flyer sent home last week was a baggie for our “All for Books Campaign.” Collect any loose change from home, put in the baggie and bring in to class. The class that raises the most money will get to wrap Dr. Groover up like a mummy!

Our Family Halloween Night is Tues., Oct. 25 from 6 to 8pm. Please join us for lots of spooky fun. You can shop at the book fair (in the media center), purchase delicious baked goods at our bake sale and play Halloween themed games in the gym.

If you are able to volunteer to help during the book fair, please visit the signup link at: https://volunteer.scholastic.com/#/experience/signup/wcxkI8CMH

NOTE: if you send in cash or check with your child, please be sure to add tax (6%) and make checks payable to Snow PTA.

Any questions, please contact Reagan Davis: davis.reagan@gmail.com or Laura Kanclerz at laurakanclerz@yahoo.com.

Thank you, we look forward to seeing everyone!

Listening…

Good evening. We are having a lot of trouble lately with following directions and listening in class. I am spending too much time waiting and repeating myself throughout the day. Please have a discussion with your child about The importance of listening and following directions.  Thank you

Week of October 17th-21st

Spelling test will be returned tomorrow or Wednesday sorry for the delay.

Please continue to have your child read everyday at home and record the number of minutes read each day on your Weekly Reading Log. Students should also read on MyOn at home and include the number of minutes read on the log as well. Students’ Lexile scores need to be recorded weekly. If your child’s Lexile score is not increasing, then they may be reading books that are too easy or too difficult. Students should use the recommended list of books that are at their Lexile level. Once finished, the students should take the benchmark test on each book read. This will help increase each students’ level.

Our first Science test will be this Thursday on forces. A study guide will be going home tomorrow. Students may use their notebooks to help them study and also their word pics. Books are not allowed to go home due to not having enough for all 3 classes. We will be reviewing in class the next two days.

The Snow School Book Fair will be held next week. Our class will be attending on Thur, October 27th at 10:30a.m. Please send any money to school with your child on that day if they are planning on purchasing items from the Book Fair.

Congratulations to all of the students who participated in the Cipriano Race on Saturday!!! Especially Ava. K who placed.

Box tops

REMINDER!Our Box Tops Contest ends tomorrow! The class that brings in the most will get a pizza party. Remember, each box top is worth 1 point. Any child that brings their box tops clipped and bagged into sets of 50, will automatically receive an extra 10 points per bag for their class. It’s a fun, easy way to earn money for the school. Thank you!
