WORK HARD AND BE PROUD OF YOUR ACHIEVEMENTS Showcase:
Dear Students and Families of Snow School,
There are many wonderful milestones that have been accomplished by our students at school and in our community. As part of our Leader in Me Program, we would like to showcase these milestones. If your son/daughter individually, or as part of your family, a group or a team, has risen to the next level in anything-sports/reading/volunteering, etc., or has shown great leadership, participated in charity events, helps out at Scouts, church, or in another way, please send in documentation and we will post these in our new showcase for Leadership. Items, with names!!!, should be sent to Mrs. Zechar. Your items will be returned after the month they have been posted. If we get a lot of entries we might have to hold on to yours for a bit before it gets posted. Thanks for your help in celebrating our Snow School Community!

Reminder that tomorrow is Election Day and there is NO school. The PTA is doing a bake sale on Election day and starting a hat & glove drive. Students had the chance to vote for president in class today, so we are encouraging all of our registered voters to come out and vote tomorrow!
All Weekly Reading Logs are due everyday . Students must read at least 100 minutes per week. A parent or guardian must sign their reading log everyday. If a child does not bring their reading log to school, he/she will need to flip their card. If a parent returns the log to the office by the end of the day, the student may change their card back to green. It is one of our PBIS expectations to be responsible!
Parent Teacher conferences begin this Thursday, and next Wednesday and Thursday. Please arrive at your scheduled time. If you are late, you will need to wait until I have an opening throughout the evening. Students are encouraged to attend conferences, as we are working on starting student led conferences where your child will tell you about how they have been in school. We will be sharing each child’s “My Learning Plan” where we have set goals and are tracking progress.
Wayne County Regional Enhancement Education Millage Proposal
School districts in Wayne County have placed a proposal on the November 8th ballot to provide added funding for our schools. It is the “Regional Enhancement Millage Proposal.”
If approved by the entire county, the 2 mil proposal will generate approximately $6.2 million from Dearborn but the District will receive $7.8 million in additional funding for our schools. Money would go to local schools starting this year and the millage expires after six years. Continue reading

Bake Sale and Hat & Glove Collection
The PTA is doing a bake sale on Election Day, Tues., Nov. 8! If you are interested in helping
by sending in baked goods, we would really appreciate it! We are looking for items such as muffins, donuts, etc for the morning crowd, along with the usual cookies, brownies and cupcakes. We will have water and are looking into getting coffee or hot chocolate as well.
New this year, we are collecting new hats and gloves to give to kids in need in our school and community. The kick-off to this will be Election Day and ending just before Christmas break. Our goal is to bring in 100 sets of hats & gloves. If you are able to donate, please bring them in starting that day. We will have a bin next to the office.
Thank you!

They are also looking for comments or suggestions about the end of the year picnic and/or changing the format. If you have thoughts, please share them. They have had only one response so far.
