Week of Feb 27th-March 3rd

Students are encouraged to go onto MobyMax and khan academy at home as often as possible. Mrs. Bush has announced the contest for MobyMax that will run through the first week of April. Students can also go onto the Dearborn Schools Website and go to “NWEA RIT Practice” to do activities that will help improve their NWEA scores.

Starting this week until the end of school year students are asked to do a read works digital instead of a reading log. https://digital.readworks.org/ If they are unable to get online or have accses to a computer, they are required  to read at least 30 minutes a night.

Habit 4 Win/Win activity

During Winter Break we are asking families to participate in a Habit 4 Win/Win activity.  Please sort through your books at home.  IF there are any you no longer want please bring them to Snow School and put them in the bin by Mrs. Bush’s room.

These books will then be reused in our Thursday (3/16 and 3/23) Book Share table.   Each book will cost $.50.  This is a win/win because you are reorganizing your books (discovering some you may have forgotten) AND you are helping a friend to buy a new book at a low cost.     The money will be used by the Leader in Me Team to complete the main hallway decorating.

If you have any question please see Mrs. Bush

Reading Challenge

Today a new reading challenge will begin!  Your goal is to work on MobyMax everyday to complete 1-2 lessons and then spend time reading on Myon.  This challenge will run through Spring Break ending April 9, 2017.  Top 20 students will have a pizza lunch and 4 of those will be selected to win a gift card.

Completing this challenge will help to increase your reading lexile and prepare you to do well on the spring M-Step and NWEA.

Week of February 13th-17th

Tomorrow, February 14th, is our Valentine’s Day card/candy exchange. We have 26 students in our class and a list of names went home with your child.

We will be trying something different this week to prepare for our Unit 7 Math Test. I usually send home the Study Guide, however many students do not complete the Study Guide and/or forget to bring it back to school. Therefore, Wednesday we will complete the Unit 7 Study Guide together in class, students will take it home to study, and the test will be on Thursday. Students will not need to return the Study Guide to class.

Our PBIS party is this Thursday, February 16th. Students had to have no more than 5 card flips from the months of December and January combined in order to participate. Please return the electronics permission slip if you child is participating in the celebration. All electronics should have students’ names on them and should be turned off until the celebration. Students can keep their electronics in their backpacks or on the teacher’s desk. Those students who had more than 5 card flips will be joining the “ReThink Room” to review PBIS expectations.
Reminder that this Wednesday, February 15th is a Late Start Day. The first bell will ring at 9:35 a.m.
Reminder that Mid-Winter Break is Monday, February 20th through Friday, February 25th. There will be NO SCHOOL during this week! Enjoy the time off with friends and family:
