Spring Parent Teacher Conferences!!!

It’s time to plan for Spring Parent- Teacher Conferences. I will not be seeing everyone  for the spring conferences unfortunately because it is only one day. If your child brought home a yellow note yesterday I will need to meet with you on Thursday, March 22nd.

Each conference will last approximately 10-15 minutes, and it is very important that you be on time for your scheduled time that you’ve chosen on sign up genius. If you’re late you will have to wait for a time that is free in-between conferences.

Please you the sign up genius link below to choose a time that works best for you. These are the only times I have available. If you’re unable to attend we can set up a phone conference for your conveniences. Thank you.

Ms. Sherlock

Week of March 5th-9th

I have attached two announcements on google classroom for the link to quizlet. This will help your child study for our geometry quiz this week, and our Earth systems test next week.

PLEASE make sure your child is completing each Reading Bag assignment on time. Many students are falling behind and this is resulting in lower reading grades on their report cards. Reading Bag assignments are to be completed Monday-Friday. Students are to read the assigned pages and complete a written response.

March is Reading Month Spirit Week

Monday 3/5 – Wear a shirt with a word on it

Tuesday 3/6 Whacky Hair Day

Wednesday 3/7 Wear a hat with a word on it

Thursday 3/8 Wear a shirt with your favorite team on it

Friday 3/9 Wear your pajamas or sweats

Please make sure you are not dropping off your child at school before 8:15 a.m. There is no adult supervision for students who are dropped off early. Students who eat breakfast may go to the cafeteria at 8:00 a.m., then must stay in the cafeteria until 8:15 a.m. and head down to the gym where they must sit in our class room and wait for the first bell.

Teacher of The Year

The Albert Muirhead Teacher of the Year Award ceremonies encourage students to participate in nominating their teachers.  This is the perfect way for our students to pay back the good that teachers do and say thank you!

Applications are online on the Dearborn Public Schools’ home page and it’s just a short form that needs to be filled out. The deadline for submitting nominations is Friday March 16th at 5pm.  Students can nominate any teacher they have had within the district.
An on-line nomination form can be found directly at: https://goo.gl/nuCtnN
Thank you,

I hope everyone everyone had a restful break.

Thank you to the families that purchased supplies. Much appreciated.

Please make sure that your child is caught up with their Reading Bag assignments and work on google classroom. All Dearborn Public Schools will be open on Monday February 12th

We want to thank all the hard working Engineers, Custodians, and staff members in the Operations and Grounds Department for putting in many extra hours this weekend to clear school parking lots and sidewalks.

We also want to extend a thank you to all the crews at the City of Dearborn who have been working hard all weekend to clear streets in our city.

After checking road conditions, talking with the City of Dearborn, and having discussions with our Transportation Department the District does not anticipate any wide spread problems or delays.

However, with the amount of snowfall and cold temperatures, conditions may exist on a few side streets that require slower then normal and extra cautious driving. Please be advised that these conditions may cause some buses to run a bit behind schedule on Monday.

Bundle up and see you in school on Monday!
