Last PTA skate night of the year
The wonderful Snow School PTA’s Last Skate Night of this school year will be this Thursday, March 12th! It will be at the Lincoln Park Skating Center from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. The cost is $7.00 per skater in advance and/or $9.00 at the door. Roller Skate rental is included, you may bring your own skates but they will need to be inspected at eh door before entering. Parents or younger siblings that will not be skating do not need a ticket. A parent or adult must be present. Come and join the fun!!!
Schools security system
OUR DOOR SECURITY SYSTEM WILL BE ACTIVATED ON THURSDAY OF THIS WEEK. DOOR 10 (BACK LOBBY DOOR) WILL BE UNLOCKED FROM 8:15-8:45AM and THEN 3:35-8:30 PM. KIDS CLUB BEFORE SCHOOL PROGRAM SHOULD ENTER THROUGH THE PRESCHOOL DOORS.

Field trip!! Friday March 13th
We are going on our field trip to the Henry Ford Museum on Friday, March 13th. We will be there from 9:30-2:30 so please make sure your child is wearing comfortable walking shoes and packs a lunch in a disposable bag. We are learning about the past, present, and future in social studies, so this will be a great way to see examples of what life was like in the past!
Landforms/ Bodies of Water Test FRIDAY March 6th

You are invited to family literacy night! Children can choose from many activities such as: Story Telling, HedBandz Game, Readers Theater, Make and Take Book, Bookmarks, and Site Word Bingo! Prizes will be awarded! There will also be a parent information presentation. Hope you can make it!

We are finishing up with landform in science. There will be a test Friday March 6th. We will be review in class, a study guide will be going home tomorrow. Please review with your child.
March is Reading Month activities:
Monday – we read a Dr. Seuss book for his birthday
Tuesday- decorate classroom door like our favorite book
Wednesday- read in the hallway 8:50-9:00
Thursday – read a non-fiction book
Friday- explain to someone how to pick a “good fit” book
Saturday – visit a public library and find a quiet place to read
Sunday – play a game that involves words like Hangman, Boggle, or Scrabble

Well of February 23rd- 27th
Thank you to all of the wonderful families that donated food/supplies for our class Valentine’s day party. The students really enjoyed passing out their cards and treats to each other.
We are almost done with chapter 6 in math. We will be reviewing this week. A home review will go tomorrow. Please make sure you review at home. Our test will be on Friday February 27th.
Pennies for Pasta: Our last day to collect will be this Friday, February 27! We have been very supportive of the Leukemia Foundation and look forward to closing out this week with a record collection. Our total right now is $852.95! Tons of thanks for your support!
PBIS Reward Party: Monday, March 2, 245-315: Students may bring electronics from home for this reward day! We usually don’t allow tablets, Ipads, Ipods, Leapster, DS and other suitable electronics at school, but this one half hour is different! FUN! Please enjoy, respect and be responsible with your electronics!
2nd grade/ kindergarden project base learning activity
The week after break, we will begin focusing on communities. If anyone has a connection to a community worker such as a firefighter, dentist, baker etc. who is willing to talk to the kids about 10-15 minutes about their job, please let me know. We are looking for a variety of community helpers to present.
Kindergarten and Second Grade will be teaming up on a great project about our community! We are asking for pictures of your child at local businesses around the city. Feel free to take pictures at one, some, or all of the following locations!
