Parents we need your help

Hi Parents and Friends,
We want to make sure every student gets the lunch you bring! We are asking for your help as it is becoming increasingly difficult for our office staff to make sure that lunches and snacks that are dropped off get into your students’ hands without disrupting the instruction in the classroom. If you drop off a lunch or snack after the school day begins, please label it with your child’s name and teacher and place it in the basket in the office. We are asking teachers to remind students to check the basket if they are expecting that you will be dropping off a yummy snack or lunch for them or if they forgot their lunch.

Similarly, we are often inundated with calls at the end of the day with changes to after school routines. We do our best to get this information out to your student, but sometimes that is not possible. Please make sure your child knows where to go with whom after school and try to save the phone calls for emergency changes to established routines. With almost 400 students, messages are sometimes misplaced or forgotten and we want to be sure your child is not confused at the end of the day!

Thanks for your help with this!

Week of November 9th-13th

Just a reminder that Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled for many families this Thursday, November 12th. Please plan to arrive at your scheduled time. Other families will be coming next Wednesday or Thursday evenings. Parents will receive their child’s report card. This Friday, November 13th is our Peanut Butter Drive/Pajama Day.

Dr. Groover has accepted the challenge to “read her heart out” all day in the lobby. Students are asked to donate a jar of peanut butter and wear their pajamas to school. The peanut butter will be donated for the Blessings in a Backpack program.

Permission slips to the Michigan science center are due this Friday with the money. Please bring them back as soon as possible. Our field trip is November 20th Friday. Thank you to the chaperones that have volunteered!!

The Bonus words are extra credit words. They are not required we’re expanding our vocabulary. If they get them wrong on the test it does not  count against them.

Peanut butter/ Pajama day

Good evening!
Next Friday, November 13, will be a big day at Snow! I have accepted the PTA’s Principal Reading Challenge and will be “reading my heart out” in the lobby ALL DAY! In honor of this day, all students and staff are invited to wear their pajamas to school in exchange for a donation of one (or more) jar(s) of peanut butter to benefit our Dearborn Blessings in a Backpack program. We did this last year and it was very popular. I know it was my favorite day of the school year!
