Week of April 10th-13th

Going on MobyMax and Khan Academy is a proven method to INCREASE test scores! M-Step and NWEA testing starts right after spring break. These tests are very important. A great way to prepare for these tests, especially over a break, is to get on MobyMax and do the Reading Informational and Reading Literature. When going on Khan Academy this is a MATH program, specifically. Your child’s goal should be 45-60 minutes a day between the two programs. Use this link to log into these programs using the district provided log in.

Line up before school is returning to the blacktop off of Houston Street for grades 2-5. Students should not be walking through the hallways to get to the playground. All students should be in line outside for the pledge at 8:35 a.m.

Reminder that this Wednesday, April 12th is a Late Start day. The first bell will ring at 9:35 a.m.
Reminder that there is NO School this Friday, April 14th.

Spring Carnival Information

The Spring Carnival planning is in full effect! The PTA has been working hard on planning our first Spring Carnival for Friday May 19 from 5 to 8 p.m. There are many activities planned including face painting, carnival games and cake/cupcake walks along with great food and some AMAZING raffle baskets. The teachers will be doing raffle baskets this year by grade instead of by classroom. Please help them by donating items to make these baskets great again this year! Each grade chose the following themes:
Kindergarten – Family Fun
First Grade – Arts & Crafts
Second Grade – Movie Night
Third Grade – Vacation Fun
Fourth Grade – Sports
Fifth Grade – Summer Time Fun
Special Ed – Life is a Beach

Office/Special Areas – Lego

We’ve also been very lucky this year and received some fantastic donations that we’ll raffle off, such as:
Four one-day passes to Detroit Zoo
Four one-day passes to Michigan Science Center
Gift Cards to Applebee’s, Chili’s, Longhorn, Red Robin
Gift Baskets from Dearborn Music, Biggby
And the biggest one:
Four one-day Hopper Passes to Disney!! Woo Hoo!!

These are just a few of the generous donations the PTA has received and we are working tirelessly to get more.
If you have any questions, donations, etc, please contact Jeannette Warren, PTA President at: trynsmom@gmail.com or 313-327-1747

Calling All Spring Cleaners!

Calling All Spring Cleaners!
As part of Snow Elementary Leader In Me Program, we are asking you, our fabulous students, to reach out in our community to help others. If you’d like to be a part of the April Clean-Up Club, simply volunteer to help clean-up a neighbor’s, relative’s or your very own yard. “Clean-up” could include pulling weeds, raking up leftover leaves and sticks from the fall, or picking up trash that has blown into the yard. Please be sure to have a parent with you and get permission of the community member before cleaning up. You are giving back to the community, so please offer to do this free of cost.
Each time you help clean-up someone’s yard, write the date and color a square on the chart that is available to you from your classroom teacher. Once you have helped 5 members in the community, please return the chart to your teacher for acknowledgement of your leadership and kindness.
Thank you for consideration in being a part of our Snow School’s Giving Back Action Team!
