Read by Third Grade

Based on Public Law 306 (October 2016), third grade students who are more than a year below grade level on the state ELA assessment are under consideration for retention in third grade.  Dearborn Public Schools staff in elementary schools have been systematically planning to ensure that teachers have the training to teach reading effectively and that students receive small group instruction based on their needs.  The current year second graders are the first group to potentially be impacted by the legislation.
You are invited to join the district task force to strengthen the planning process and to ensure that the community is informed and engaged in the success of every student.
If you would like to participate, please complete the survey.

Thank you for helping to publicize the task force. As a community working together, we will ensure every student is successful.

5th grade Holiday Party!

5th Grade Holiday Party!!

Our 5th grade classes will be enjoying a festive Holiday party on December 21st from 9:00am to approximately 11:00 am in the Snow cafeteria.   We’re planning on having a delicious pancake breakfast, cooked by our very own 5th grade teachers! While the students are enjoying a wonderful home-cooked breakfast, they will be able to sit with friends and watch a G-rated Holiday movie.

We have several items that we are in need of to make our celebration a success.  Please click the link below to sign up for an item(s) needed for our party. Your generosity is extremely appreciated, and we thank you so much!

Headphones Needed

Our classroom is in desperate need of headphones!  Many of our classroom headphones are no longer working due to bent jacks or broken parts that cannot be replaced.  If you’re thinking of early holiday gifts for your child, an inexpensive pair of headphones or earbuds to keep in class would be a great gift!  Several students already keep their own headphones in their desks.  Keep an eye out for some good Black Friday specials:)
