Penny wars

Penny Wars is helping the PTA pay for various items for the school and our students. So far this year we have paid for all of the student planners, a new projecter for in the gym for various assemblies, part of the 5th grade camp bus as well as many other things including all of the buses for field trips, 5th grade promotion ceremony and the end of the year picnic. Thank you for supporting the Snow PTA!

Week 2 of Penny Wars has started out strong! Here are the points so far!

Preschool +1186 points
Kindergarten +2445 points
1st Grade +2825 points
2nd Grade +1045 points
3rd Grade +2459 points
4th Grade -4938 points
5th Grade -2119 points
Staff -482 points

It is amazing how quickly the lead can change in one day! Penny Wars will be going on all of next week so please continue to bring in your change!

Remember, pennies and bills count as postive points for your grade and put silver coins(nickels, dimes, and quarters) into other grades to give them negative points. Jugs are located in the office.

The winning grade or the staff(if they get out of the negative) will win a catered lunch provided by the PTA as well as gift certificates to Zap Zone and Benihana.

Week of November 12th-16th

  1. Thanksgiving Family Turkeys are due tomorrow (Tuesday, November 13th).  Families should work together to decorate their turkey and write a paragraph explaining what the steps you followed to make the turkey and what your family is thankful for.  Thank you to the students that have already turned their turkeys in.

Thank you to the families that attended Parent Teacher Conferences last week.  We will continue conferences this Tuesday and Thursday.  Please make sure to come on the scheduled day at the correct time.  Families will receive their child’s report card during conferences.

We’ve started Module 2 in Math Friday will be our next mini quiz on topic A. Please use the exit tickets, homework, and learn book to help you review.

Penny Wars will continue through this Friday.  Continue to send in your pennies/bills to add positive points to our grade and silver coins to deduct from other grades’ points.

Battle Against Hunger begins today through this Friday.  Please bring in any canned goods to donate.  There will be a tally in the lobby of which grades bring in the most canned goods.  The winning grade will receive a pizza party!

As the weather gets colder, please make sure your child comes to school with the appropriate clothes and coats.  Students go outside as long as the temperature with wind chill is above 20 degrees Fahrenheit.  Many students are still coming to school without coats.  If your child is in need of a winter coat, please contact me and I can forward the information to Mrs. Cartier (social worker).
