Thank you!! Happy holiday and New Year

Thank you all for all the wonderful gifts. I’m so lucky!! Yours all so generous.

Thank you to everyone that donated items to our Holiday party. It was a great success. The students had a blast and a full belly. Haha.

I hope everyone has a safe and wonderful holiday and new year !!! Enjoy every minute with family and friends.

Week of December 18th-22nd

Science Fair Project Idea slips are due this THURSDAY, December 21st.

There is a social studies test this Thursday. A study guide went home today.

Reading logs are due this Friday for this week..

Our Holiday Gift Exchange is this Friday, December 22nd. Please make sure to bring in a wrapped gift ($5.oo limit) by Friday morning if you plan on participating.

Spirit Week starts today with “Baby it’s cold outside” and wear a winter hat and scarf. Spirit Week continues this week with Tuesday: “Holiday Sweater Day”, Wednesday: “White Out”, Thursday: “Holiday Cheer”, and Friday: “Snowed In”.

Reminder that there is a Late Start this Wednesday, December 20th. The first bell will ring at 9:35 a.m.

There will be no Reading Bag homework over the Holiday Break, however students are expected to continue reading at home every day. They should also go onto Moby Max over the break and work on both Math and Reading (literature and informational). The goal would be at least one hour per week on our Reindeer dash contest.

School will be closed for the winter break from December 25-January 5. School will reopen on Monday, January 8, 2018!

Google classroom

A lot of work has been returned and graded in google classroom. There are a lot of mistakes and missing assignments. I am letting your child fix their mistakes or incomplete and resubmit for a better grade. They need to be resubmitted by Friday.

Reminder.. Holiday Party

Just a reminder Our 5th grade classes will be enjoying a festive Holiday party on December 22nd from 9:00am to approximately 11:00 am. We’re planning on having a delicious pancake breakfast, cooked by our very own 5th grade teachers! While the students are enjoying a wonderful home-cooked breakfast, they will be able to sit with friends and watch a G-rated Holiday movie. We have several items that we are in need of to make our celebration a success. Your generosity is extremely appreciated there’s still some open slots. We thank you so much!

Special Weather Announcement

Special Weather Announcement

Due to the severe weather predicted for this afternoon, (12/13/17) all after school activities will be cancelled in the Dearborn Public Schools. This includes athletics, childcare programs, adult and community education, building permits, and other events specific to individual schools.

All schools will remain open today and close at their regular time. Parents have the option to pick up their child early. Any student who is picked up by their parent or legal guardian will be given an excused absence. High school students will only be allowed to leave early if a parent or legal guardian contacts the school.

Normal bus routes will operate but may run late. All extracurricular busses for activities will be cancelled.

Bus ride to Stout!

The school has arranged for one bus to take the 4th and 5th graders to Stout tomorrow morning at 9:15 a.m. for “The Bullies Christmas Carol” play.  We will have to take two trips to accommodate everyone, however no one will have to walk in the cold weather and snow!!!  We will be back by 11:00 to go to lunch on time.

Science fair!!

Good afternoon families of students grades 3-5,

This year your child will be required to do a science experiment.  Requirements will be sent home this evening.  Please have your child search/brainstorm ideas that may interest him/her.  The “Science Fair Project Getting Started” Idea Slip is due back to your child’s classroom teacher by December 21st.
