Peer Pals

Dear Snow Parents,
Snow Elementary is committed to fostering an inclusive environment for our students with and without disabilities. As part of our efforts to support students with disabilities we have developed a program to promote awareness.
Peer Pals is dedicated to building relationships between general education students and students with special needs. This program allows general education students to develop empathy and understanding of differing abilities. It allows for students with special needs to build friendships with same age typically developing peers. Some students will be paired in social/academic activities with a peer pal. Student participation is voluntary.

Week of January 30th-February 3rd

Great job to all of the students who presented their Science Fair Projects and attended Science Night at school! We will be finishing up presentations this week.
Report cards will printed and sent home some time this week.

The Unit 5 Math Test will be coming home today. Any student who received a 3 or 4 have the option of taking a retest. We went over the test today. Their homework tonight was to study. If they choose to they may retake the test tomorrow.
We will be taking our final NWEA test in Science this Tuesday . Once the website has calculated the scores, I will send home a print out of all test scores so families can see where your child showed growth and where improvement is still needed. I encourage students to go onto the dearbornschools.org website and click on NWEA RIT Practice to do activities at home to help improve their RIT scores.

Another great website to improve their NWEA RIT scores is Khan Academy. We started using this website last Friday. It is also a great resource when extra math help is needed.
