Field Trip to Apple Orchard
second grade classes are going to Wiard’s Orchard on Wednesday, October 28th for an all day field trip. Please make sure your child dresses appropriately for the weather and wears comfortable walking shoes. Please pack a lunch in a disposable bag. No glass please. Thank you to all the chaperones that have volunteered! It’s going to be a great day! All permission slips and money must be turned in by tomorrow!
A note for the chaperones will go home tomorrow explaining what time you need to be at school and some other important information.
Week of October 26th-30th
Please make sure your child is reading every night for 15-20 minutes. It is important for students to read at home to improve comprehension, accuracy, fluency, and vocabulary.
Thank you to those families who have signed up to bring in treats for our Halloween party this coming Friday. If you have not signed up, please do not send in any treats. Otherwise we have too much food and much of it gets wasted. There will be other opportunities to bring in treats for future parties. As of now, we still need volunteers to bring in vegetables and fruit (it helps even out all of the sugar!).
Parent Teacher Conferences are coming up on November 12th, 18th, and 19th. Please make sure you have signed up for a day and time to discuss your child’s first report card and progress made so far this year.
The district has paid for a fantastic website called “MobyMax”. Please encourage your child to visit this website at home. Last Friday we did our Math Practice Test in class and many students have started their lessons for math. The website is www.mobymax.com/signin. The username is the student’s id number and the password is their birthdate (mmddyyy). It is a wonderful website and students really enjoy the lessons/activities provided.
