Every Monday the students will take a Spelling Pretest to see what words they already know how to spell and what the week’s rule is for the spelling words. There will be 5 “hot” words that follow a particular pattern. On Friday’s test, the students will also be asked how to spell 5 “cold” words that follow the same pattern. The test will also include 5 Dolch words that we are learning in Second grade 
Students will receive Spelling homework every Monday. The spelling sheet lists different spelling activities that the students can complete at home. Students must choose 4 of these activities, complete them at home, and return the sheet with all work attached every Friday. Your child will be coming home with Spelling homework today.

Students should be reading 15-20 minutes every night at home. The more students practice reading, the better readers they will become!

2nd grade students will begin learning Science and Social Studies starting tomorrow . All second graders will have myself for Science , then they will go to Mrs. Sabellico class for Social studies . This happens in the afternoon 2:50-3:20 every Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday

**Reminder that Open House is this Thursday, September 17th from 5:30-7:00 p.m. Come in and see your child’s classroom and meet the teacher.

*Snow School Spirit shirt order forms and money are due by September 30th.

Just a reminder we have gym tomorrow afternoon. Please make sure to send your child in or with gym shoes. Thank you. Have amazing weekend!! 

Thank you to the families that returned all required paperwork. If you have not turned in the Student Information Sheet or Student Emergency Card, please do so as soon as possible. If you are opting out of eating breakfast at school, you must sign and return the form that was sent home on Wednesday. Also, families must fill in and return one free and/or reduced lunch form per family as soon as possible if they want to see if they qualify.

Attention parents: We have students in our class that is allergic to peanuts. Please do not send any snacks to school that contain peanuts. Remind your child that they should never share their snack or lunch with friends due to allergies and food restrictions. Thank you for keeping our classroom safe!

Our Open House is next Thursday evening, Sept. 17, from 5:30-7:00pm. We look forward to seeing you!
