Strategy #2: Thinking Maps

thi_mapFor those of you that like to study through visuals, you can easily convert notes into thinking maps.

  • If you are defining a word or concept, you can use a circle map.
  • If you are categorizing differnet parts of a concept and need to explain them, use a tree map.
  • If you need to just list differnet parts of a concept, use a bubble map.
  • If you want to compare and contrast two concepts, use a double bubble.
  • If you want to outline historical events or the steps involved in a process, use a flow map.
  • If you want to discuss the cause and effects or consequences of a concept, use a multi-flow-map.
  • If you want to explain how soemthing is divided into parts, use brace maps.
  • If you want to make comparisons between two concepts, use a bridge map.
